School Health Services

Take a few deep breaths first * Don’t Panic!

               1. Someone needs to assign another person to call 911

(Look someone directly in the eye and point saying “you call 911”)

               2. Have someone bring the AED to the scene of unconscious person

               3. Get as much detail of the emergency as possible—try to write info
down if you can (Ex: “there’s a 6 year old boy who fell about 5 feet

from the slide and landed on his head. He’s moving his arms, but

not his legs, he seems confused and it’s looks like he’s breathing a

                   little”).

               4. Try to call on a land line phone if possible-(they can track the
location, give them your location) ex: Sacaton Elementary School

Northside playground by the slide, have some stand out front of

school to flag down emergency personnel to location

               5. Know the phone number that you’re calling from-(they may need to

                   call you back) provide location

               6. Speak slowly and clearly so they can understand you
               7. Answer all of their questions as best as you can

               8. Listen to their instructions carefully-(write them down if

                   possible)

               10. Don’t hang up until they tell you to, as they may need to

               track the call
